A little over a year ago I photographed this darling little boy along with his 4 siblings and parents. His mom called and asked me to photograph a very special session for Khalil, which has since been titled “the warrior.” What warrior doesn’t come to the studio without a cape, belt, helmet and super powers?
Here is a little bit about this special guy in his Mom’s words…On his 449th day, Khalil, last born of premature triplets, was diagnosed with a cancer so rare and severe that only 300 cases are diagnosed in the U.S. annually. The diagnosis ended his family’s four-year assignment with USAID, Senegal, and began a journey of courage, perseverance, and love. Khalil, who learned to walk pushing an IV stand, is midway through a grueling 15-month treatment regimen that includes eight rounds of chemo-therapy, two stem-cell transplants, several surgeries, and radiation followed by six months of anti-body therapy.
I photographed Khalil’s warrior session at the end of his radiation treatment to document how courageous he has been throughout the entire process and to illustrate his incredible strength and perseverance. He is full of so much joy and love and had a wonderful time working with him again. I can’t wait to see him back in the studio with his family for their next session.
KCA Khalil! See you in the Spring

There is always room to add more color into a photo shoot, so why not add it with finger paint? This darling duo had a great time with each other creating their very own masterpiece with finger paint! You may remember a finger paint session from a couple months ago, well we couldn’t stop there and thought why not try it with two! Here are the very fun results
Enjoy…

What do you get when you mix a little finger paint with a 9 month old… Finger paint madness! We added a little color to Madeline’s session in my Minneapolis studio by allowing her to use her toes and fingers to create her very own artwork. Her colorful look was complete with custom bloomers and headband created by her mom and grandma, Heather Baldridge of Custom Sewing by Heather. Enjoy…

I had the opportunity to photograph a mini session with Steph and Jeff just days before he left for National Guard training on a deployment to Kuwait. We met at Como park in St. Paul and Jeff was dressed in his National Guard fatigues. We captured some great photos when Steph donned a bright red shirt showing support for her soldier-boyfriend. Thank you Jeff for your service and I look forward of photographing you both upon your return.

We had such a beautiful day for this creative family session in Minneapolis. The Kirvens started their session at Mill City and ended with a walk on the Stone Arch Bridge. We even made a pit stop so the boys could watch the boats go by. The boys were so silly and fun and this relaxed atmosphere really made their personalities really shine through. Enjoy…

Hooray for Spring AND being able to show off our toes! Sweet little Mady came back into the studio for her one year shoot. We started off by enjoying the beautiful weather outside for some fun spring photos and then ended her session inside where we had a silly time with her smash the cake session! Big brother Michael was also along to help us out

Many of you ask me whether or not you should bring your husband/ significant other to your little one’s shoot and I always say ABSOLUTELY! This session is the reason why.
Capture these precious little moments while you can, they grow so quickly and before you know it they will no longer fit into your arms. Enjoy…
