I had the opportunity on Saturday to be the matron of honor at my sister’s wedding at Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel. My husband and assistant photographer Pete, photographed the majority of the day and Jason from Joy Orcutt Photography also helped out for a couple hours. The photos below are a combination of  Pete’s and mine. A very special thank you to Luna Vinca for gorgeous flowers and to Amy Stuzriem for beautiful hair and makeup!

They started off their winter wedding at the studio getting ready where they had their first look outside on the cobblestone streets.  Then we headed to Fort Snelling for some gorgeous photos. The lighting was incredible and we even managed to find a couple patches of snow :) Matt, a former Marine suited up in his dress blues shortly before the ceremony in the gorgeous intimate stone chapel. Candles lit up the aisle and live music from the very talented Jeff James filled the chapel throughout the ceremony. We headed to Mears Park in downtown St. Paul to capture some of the twinkling lights, then headed off to Ideal Hall for a reception filled with mason jars, candles and birch trees. The evening was complete with great music played by DJ Travis Stanich of Sound Factory Systems. Enjoy….

This Chicago couple’s creative style, love for music and gorgeous venue selection made more a gorgeous and elegant wedding day. Beth and Scott started off their day getting ready in the beautiful Penthouse Suites of The Graves 601 Hotel which overlooked the great city of Minneapolis. We headed across the street for a series of photos in front of a Minneapolis landmark- First Avenue. followed by a few downtown street shots. Their ceremony took place under a beautiful  hand woven Chuppah detailed with both Minneapolis and Chicago skylines. The Chuppah was complete  with beautiful birch branches crafted by Richfield Florist. The reception at The Graves 601  followed with a night complete with dinner, a lot of dancing, and  a gorgeous dessert buffet  along with a Traveling Photo Booth. Enjoy…

Aditi and Justin’s wedding day was filled with an incredible amount of emotion and love and I am truly honored to have been there to capture it all! Their first look was so touching it gave me goosebumps! They started off the day at The Depot in Minneapolis getting ready with their friends and family. Many smiles, happy tears and well wishes were shared by all. Their ceremony took place under a gorgeous sun filled Mandap decked out by Richfield Florists with crystals and flowers. After the ceremony the couple changed into their evening wear and jumped aboard a trolley and headed to the Stone Arch Bridge where we took advantage of the setting sun. They ended the night with toasts, dancing and a elaborate desert buffet.  Enjoy…

We had a wonderful time photographing Cassy and Mike last Saturday. Although we had gorgeous fall colors the weather felt like a warm summer day. Their ceremony was help at Trellis Events in Stillwater, an absolutely stunning location. Chandeliers hung above the tented ceremony as the couple said I do. The reception followed at Tanners Brook Golf Course in Forest Lake where the wedding party joined us for a few photos in front of  rustic barns on the grounds. We were even able to catch a great sunset amidst the clouds before heading in where the couple and their guests danced the night away. Enjoy…

Friday’s overcast day  transformed into a beautiful blue sky with big white clouds as I photographed Jessica and Steve’s wedding. Jessica started by getting ready in the gorgeous bridal suite at 413 on Wacouta  and the couple had their first look in a classic downtown  St. Paul alley. I photographed the wedding party, who were decked out in purple, in Mears Park before moving to Nazareth Chapel at Northwest College in Roseville. Friends filled the pews as Jessica and Steve exchanged vows on the altar of the beautiful sanctuary. They exited the church for a ride in an antique Cadillac and arrived at 413 on Wacouta just after sunset where we headed to the roof for some breathtaking shots. Their cocktail style reception featured appetizers and a variety of cupcakes and plenty of dancing to celebrate a beautiful day.

The seemingly “small” details of any wedding helps guests remember the entire day. Jana and Nick did an amazing job with every little detail for their wedding at the Gull Lake Yacht Club yesterday. Jana and Nick exchanged vows as their guests, seated in white chairs, looked at the gorgeous backdrop of Gull Lake as acoustic music filled the air.  Following the ceremony I took Jana and Nick down to the beach for some of their photos, including the dock and sailboats. As guests attended the cocktail hour they shared “The Lake Water” drinks, served in Mason Jars. Guests entered the white tent to find several elegant details on each table, including purple napkins folded into fish and tables named for a variety of fish. As the sun set, everyone moved inside for their first dance.

I had such a fun time photographing Andrea and Jake’s wedding at the North Oaks Country Club on Saturday. As their guests sat on the terrace, they exchanged their vows at the gazebo. The venue’s gorgeous grounds left us with a ton of options to photograph the couple and the wedding party. Jake and Andrea enjoy golfing so we photographed him and his guys and their clubs and the used  he 18th hole as a beautiful backdrop for some fun photos. Andrea wore some awesome pink high heels, which I shot in contrast with the yellow lines on a nearby road—one of my favorite photos from the event. Enjoy…

Wish upon a wedding is here in Minnesota! “They are the world’s first nonprofit wedding wish granting organization, providing weddings to terminally ill individuals, regardless of sexual orientation. Official wedding wish granting organization and partner of the Association of Bridal Consultants.” This is such an incredible organization that I feel so strongly is going to make such a big difference for so many couples! I first learned about Wish Upon a Wedding last year while attending a photography conference (WPPI) in las Vegas. The stories and lives affected by this amazing group brought tears to my eyes! I met Jana & Nick one recent morning for their engagement photos in Minneapolis. Nick’s sense of humor kept Jana laughing as we moved around Boom Island Park shooting. We had a little preview of the wedding coming up in Nisswa when we waded into the Mississippi river to cool down and keep shooting. In knee deep water they started dancing in the Mississippi for a series of amazing photos. Enjoy…
